Description
I am a member of ASCAP. I have songs I have created (with melodies--not 'poems'), but I have no discernable musical talent. I seek to form a partnership (sharing the copyrights) with a musician or a producer to make demos to get songs published/recorded. Most of my songs are in a field defined by bluegrass, traditional country, Americana and folk. They are mostly about love: wanting it, finding/experiencing it (from one-night stands to having a wife), and losing it. They range from sweet (but not syrupy) to edgy. A few (including the edgiest one--which is probably, start to finish, my best song: "Rebel Girl") call for a female singer (like a younger Lucinda Williams). One is a 'real' Christmas song outside that field, about the uplifting but not specifically aspects of Christmas time: "Everyone Can Share The Joy." It is actually best suited to be performed by a choir, especially one with men, women, and children--like a church choir. I'm thinking it would be the easiest to get published/recorded.
