Mindfulness is a popular topic these days. But what IS mindfulness? A brain scientist gives us the details & shows us how it's done.
There is a growing interest among people of all ages in the physical and mental benefits of meditation and mindfulness. But what IS mindfulness, and does it really provide better health and well-being?
A real-life brain scientist - and the Buddhist meditator who was once her test subject - will take us on a journey into the science behind the stories of meditation’s beneficial effects. We’ll learn about neuroplasticity, the relaxation response, and some really cool stuff about what happens to your brain waves when you close your eyes and follow a simple mindfulness routine.
After a lively TED-style talk by brain scientist Julie Brefczynski-Lewis and Buddhist meditator Lama Kathy Wesley, we will break into small groups for hands-on learning of Mindfulness basics. We’ll also talk about how training your brain can help you live a healthier life.
NEW THIS YEAR! We will share new details about how mindfulness affects pain, depression, stress, “brain fog,” and more.
You’ll leave the event understanding how to practice basic breath-awareness meditation and how to integrate a mindfulness practice into your everyday life
TICKETS will be available March 14 through 12 Midnight on May 4.
