Join URA for a tour of Waste Management's Materials Recovery Facility- a recycling facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Waste Management of Utah has proudly served Utah communities for 46 years. From the Great Salt Lake to the captivating canyon caves, WM's more than 200 employees are dedicated to delivering safe, efficient service to every customer. Waste Management invests in rigorous training and new technology to continuously improve services, and partners with communities to help them become cleaner and greener. In 2018, WM recycled more than 23,962 tons of bottles, cans, paper and cardboard in Utah. This will help preserve Utah’s resources for future generations by saving: 235,148 mature trees127.8 million gallons of water75 million kWh of electricityPLEASE NOTE: For your safety, sturdy, closed toe shoes and long pants are required. If you own steel-toed boots, please wear those. If not, steel toe caps will be provided. All other required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, and vest) will be provided on site.All attendees must be 18 or older for this tour.All tour attendees must register by May 18th, 2022 to ensure access to the site.
