Startup Sessions are back!
We're back after taking off last month to focus on the Redding Venture Conference! This month we will have with us David Walker who is the Director of Shasta-Cascade Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
Ever heard of Qualcomm? 23andMe? iRobot? Symantec? These, along with thousands of other companies over the last 40 years, got their start with funding from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
The program is designed to fund research and development of cutting-edge products or services. The funding will be either grants or contracts and can total $1.5 million or more. It's non-dilutive (i.e., companies don’t have to give up any ownership equity) and does not have to be paid back (i.e., it's not a loan).
Do you have an innovative idea? Are you looking for funding to bring your idea to the market? This program may make sense for you. Join us on May 26th at 5pm
