Rescheduled for Saturday, May 14th! Bring your family to this community event at an urban farm in Richmond, CA! Saturday May 14, 2022 come down to EcoVillage Farm and Learning Center for educational workshops and family events. This event is a part of a yearlong Beekeeping Apprenticeship Program by EcoVillage and MESA, with funding by the USDA-NIFA Community Food Projects grant. Planned for this event are presentations by our Beekeeping Apprentices: Treah Cleaves, Carl Hill, Hasan Bey, Phillip Lee, Candace McGadrey, Malcolm Weeks, Ray Althaur, Gaby Gonzales. With a special video presentation by Jean Pierre Pitré. Workshop topics will include: Introduction to beekeeping Plants for healthy bees How to keep bees at home How to maintain colonies and hives Bring your family but please leave your pets at home. We plan to host family friendly events throughout the day including: A petting zoo Kid-friendly educational workshops Lunch will be provided for those that register!
