LONG BEACH, NY — Three people, including a Long Beach firefighter, suffered minor injuries early Thursday morning in a house fire that began shortly before 4 a.m., fire officials said.
The Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the home on West Chester Street near Laurelton Boulevard after receiving a call that several residents were trapped inside and needed to be rescued, fire officials said. By the time firefighters arrived, all the people escaped without assistance.
Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 45 minutes, officials said. Two residents of the home, along with one firefighter, were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
According to the department, the Nassau County Fire Marshal remained at the home to determine the cause of the fire.
