HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Deputies are asking the public to help identify a man caught on surveillance camera who is accused of breaking into several Hillsborough County businesses during a span of three days. (Video provided by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office of unidentified man.) Detectives said an unidentified man smashed the front glass door of the Taste of China, 8476 Sheldon Road, Town 'N' Country between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday. Hundreds of dollars were missing from the cash register and dollar bills were on the floor. The front glass door of The Keystone Cafe, 8741 Gunn Highway, Odessa, was shattered Monday just before 2 a.m., according to investigators. Toothpicks were scattered on the floor and cash had been taken. After the burglary occurred at Keystone, authorities went to a burglary at Bahama Bucks, 8527 Gunn Highway, Odessa, where the front glass door was also shattered. Deputies said surveillance video shows the man running toward the south side of the property, and they found a cash register that belonged to Keystone in a nearby wooded area. An hour after the Bahama Bucks incident, New China restaurant, 17625 Gunn Highway, experienced similar circumstances with the front glass door shattered, investigators said. The man is accused of taking several rolls of coins from the cash register at this location. Detectives said the man is a white or Hispanic male, with white hair, is traveling in a maroon 2003 to 2008 Chevrolet Colorado, with tinted windows and window rain guards. "We are asking the community to please review the surveillance video and keep an eye out for this thief, who is targeting our local businesses, and not just stealing hard-earned money, but also causing significant damage," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "This has been an especially challenging year, and our business owners have struggled enough as it is to stay afloat. Our detectives are actively trying to identify this man and ask that anyone with information please call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200."
