Description
NORWALK, CT — No charges will be filed against the owner of a dog who bit a child at a park in Norwalk last week, according to police.
Over the weekend, police asked for the public's help identifying the owner of a dog who bit a child Wednesday at Oyster Shell Park between 1:45 p.m. and 2 p.m.
In an update Monday, police said on Facebook the owner had been located and was "very cooperative." As a result, the vaccination status of the dog had been confirmed and no charges will be filed.
"The incident is resolved with all parties satisfied," the post reads.
Police previously said the child's injuries were minor, however skin was broken on the child's hand. In light of this, Norwalk Animal Control needed to determine the dog's vaccination status so the child could receive proper treatment.
Police noted flyers had been placed in the area where the incident occurred and local businesses had been contacted in an effort to identify the dog and the owner.
Further information can be found on the Norwalk Police Department's Facebook page.
