Annual Fishing Derby for kids 16 and under. Sponsored by My Play Cafe. Twelve fisher kids will receive a medal! This Charity fishing derby will be held at the Historic Crestview Dairy just outside of Lee’s Summit, as part of the 2nd Annual The FLAVOR of Lee's Summit Charity event to benefit One Good Meal & Art School KC Street & One Good Meal! It is SPONSORED BY: MY Play Cafe Trophies Donated by: Dean's Trophies Presented By: Flavor Spice Shop & Specialty Food Market It is for children ages 16 and under and is a catch-and-release derby. Participants will measure their fish and then place them back in the lake. • Ages 16 and Under • Catch and release • Check-in, 8 am • Start time begins at 8:30 am • Awards 11:30: 9 Medals! Prizes are given to the participant with the most fish, smallest fish, largest fish • Event is $5 and tickets must be purchased via Eventbrite • Bring your own Pole, Bait and chair. *Extra bait will be for sale. • Age Groups: 5 & under, 6-9 years old, 10-16 years old. **Concessions will be available, provided by MY Play Café!** Follow the registration ticket link to read official derby participation rules. DERBY RULES: 1. Contest is catch and release. -Once your fish is measured, you will release it back in to the lake. 2. Prizes will be awarded for the smallest, largest and most fish caught. 3. We will begin at 10am, fishing will end at 3pm and awards will be given shortly after at the shelter. 4. If you catch a fish make sure it is measured. There will be a few locations to measure fish within the Fishing Derby Limits. 5. Be aware of people around you including other contestants or people walking in the area. 6. Contestants must fish from the bank of the lake. 7. Parents - please allow your child to do as much of the fishing as possible. If they need help baiting or unhooking a fish please assist. 8. Have fun! 9. You are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, etc. THE VERY IMPORTANT FINE PRINT: We recommend purchasing tickets in advance, but walk-ins are completely welcome! *FESTIVAL TICKETS SOLD SEPERATELY. IF THE LI'L FISHER/S AND FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THE REST OF THE FLAVOR OF LEE'S SUMMIT FESTIVAL DURING OR AFTER THE DERBY, PLEASE PURCHASE TICKETS SEPRATELY OR THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
