Here are the top stories today in New Orleans: NOPD is investigating after fatal shooting Sunday night in Bywater. The crime was originally reported to be on Poland St around 8 pm but was later determined to have occurred on Dauphine St. The shooting left two victims who were taken to the hospital where one later died, which reclassified the incident as a homicide. (WDSU New Orleans) New Orleans voters approved an Early Childhood Education tax on Saturday which is expected to bring in $21 million annually for education in New Orleans. The tax will open 1,000 for seats for young children throughout the city. (The Lens) Three shootings in Algiers left 1 dead and 2 injured over the weekend. Officers heard gunshots around 5 pm on Saturday and were directed to the scene where they found the victim dead from a single gunshot inside his apartment. Half an hour later, police responded to a shooting on Lawrence Road where a victim was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital. Early Sunday saw the final shooting, when EMS responded to a man suffering from two gunshot wounds on Cobblestone Lane and was taken to the hospital.
