WALPOLE, MA — Walpole has 95 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in town, as of Wednesday. So far, 49 people have completed monitoring in town. According to town statistics, the majority of virus cases, 24, are in people between the ages of 50 and 59. Town officials are urging residents to follow social distancing guidelines and wear face masks when out in public. Walpole Town Administrator has been recording public service announcements for residents that can be viewed on the town website. The total number of cases in the state is 28,163. Gov. Charlie Baker said on Tuesday, about half the state's nearly 16,000 hospital beds are available for patients suffering from COVID-19.
