Description

HOPKINTON, NH — Hopkinton and Henniker firefighters and EMTs, as well as New Hampshire State Police, were sent to a rollover crash on Interstate 89 on Sunday. Near Mile Marker 9.8, around 11 p.m., witnesses called 911 about a rollover crash with a person entrapped as well as a person ejected from the vehicle just south of Exit 6 on the southbound side. The first arriving firefighters found the vehicle, on its roof, in the median. Firefighters began removing the driver from the vehicle while state police confirmed the passenger was thrown and began searching for them, according to dispatch. Around 11:15 p.m., the battalion commander requested a trauma alert at Concord Hospital for a man in his 40s with multiple injuries who was removed from the vehicle. Henniker EMTs took the man to the hospital while the others continued to search for the passenger. At just past 11:30 p.m., dispatch said Henniker units were clearing the crash while Hopkinton firefighters stayed to work on the recovery. State police took over command of the crash scene a few minutes later after Hopkinton EMTs went back into service. Dispatch reported one trooper also went to the hospital to speak with the driver.
