Actress Giovonnie Samuels will inspire girls as keynote speaker at the 13th Annual Girls Can! Celebration. Join the Merze Tate Explorers in this 13th annual scholarship fundraising event from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Girl Scout Heart of Michigan Headquarters, 601 W. Maple St., Kalamazoo, Michigan. Actress Giovonnie Samuels from such films as Bring it On and Freedom Writers, will present the keynote address to inspire young girls to dream. Explorer Alumna Sierra Ward will host this exciting program that celebrates Explorer graduates and shares highlights of the year in review. Jaide Woods-Dawson, a medical student at the WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine, will present the Charge to young girls to believe in themselves. Girl Scout Troop #80155 and #80415 will celebrate their Silver Awards and Bridge Ceremony. Explorers will display their 20 Places Around the World exhibits for a chance to win the Community Choice Award for best presentation and unveil their Spring Girls Can! Magazine edition.
