TOPIC: ANGER Session 1: Experiencing Anger, MAY 2The introductory section includes three worksheets designed to help learners differentiate angry emotions from angry behaviors. Specific exercises illustrate ways that people may internalize anger or express it through aggressive behavior. Session 2: Anger in Our Lives, MAY 9Exercises in this section help learners recognize how anger affects them physically and examine how their early life experiences influence their current expressions of anger. Specific worksheets on levels of anger and consequences help learners determine whether their feelings correspond to their actions when they're upset and explore the impact of their anger on different areas of their lives. Session 3: Facing Our Anger, MAY 16This section helps learners recognize the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Worksheets on core beliefs and distorted thinking are intended to help learners identify and challenge their destructive thought patterns. In addition, exercises address the importance of differentiating between events that can and cannot be controlled and determining when it's best to simply accept matters as they are. Session 4: Managing Our Anger Constructively, MAY 23Exercises in this section introduce techniques that learners can use to calm down and defuse tension when they find themselves feeling overwhelmed by anger. Specific worksheets focus on grounding and mindfulness in addition to effective communication strategies. A personalized plan for anger management concludes the workbook.
