LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:
Reckless driving
Karla Maya-Hernandez, 18, of Countryside, was cited about 1 p.m. April 24 in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue on charges of reckless driving, driving without a driver's license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and damage to village property. Police said she struck a tree and a pole. No injuries were reported. Damage
A projectile of some sort damaged a front window overnight April 24 in the 400 block of South Peck Avenue. The damage was estimated at $150. Someone scrawled graffiti overnight Monday on the handball courts at Gordon Park at Ogden and Locust avenues. Identity theft
A resident in the 10 block of West Elm Avenue told police April 22 that a person cashed two checks in the resident's name without permission. No financial loss was reported. A resident in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue told police April 25 that someone opened a bank account in the resident's name without permission. The account was flagged as fraudulent. No financial loss was reported. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
