Description

WOODRIDGE, IL – DuPage County is set to start work in early May to improve the intersection of 87th Street and Woodward Avenue. The intersection is in Woodridge, just outside Darien city limits. The county plans to widen the pavement to build dual left-turn lanes in the northbound, eastbound and westbound directions, according to the county. Work is also set to include a new traffic signal, traffic signal changes at the Costco entrance, street lighting changes, and improvements to sidewalks and storm sewers. "This project will help to reduce congestion on 87th Street and Woodward Avenue, which will also improve the overall safety of the intersection," County Board member Don Puchalski said in a statement. The county said lane closures would be needed to finish the project. It is expected to be done by year's end.
