SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — While the elections will look different this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic, residents were still given the chance to choose who they want on the ballot come November. On Tuesday, June 23 the polls will officially close and the local board of elections will begin the process of counting the votes. Suffolk County residents will be voting for who they want to choose to represent New York's second Congressional district. The seat was occupied by longtime longtime U.S. Rep. Pete King, who announced in November he will not be seeking re-election this year. The district covers a portion of Bethpage, Levittown, North Wantagh, Seaford, Farmingdale, South Farmingdale, North Massapequa, Massapequa Park, and Massapequa. Suffolk County communities include Amityville, Copiague, Lindenhurst, Gilgo, West Babylon, Wyandanch, North Babylon, Babylon, Bayport, Bay Shore, Baywood, Blue Point, Brentwood, Brightwaters, Central Islip, Islip, Islip Terrace, East Islip, Great River, Ocean Beach, Oakdale, Savyille, West Sayville, Bohemia, Cedar Beach, Deer Park, West Islip, part of Dix Hills, a portion of Hauppauge, Holbrook, Islandia, part of Nesconset, Oak Beach, a portion of Patchogue, Wheatley Heights, and Ronkonkoma. Here's what you need to know before the polls close: Election day - Tuesday, June 23 Time - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Where to vote - Click here for a map of Suffolk County voting locations. Voters are required to wear a mask/face covering and maintain 6 feet of distance when entering any Board of Elections facility or voting poll site. Under the Governor's Executive Order: All voters eligible to vote in a primary should have received a postage paid application in the mail. In addition, voters were able to download a form and email to the Board of Elections or call the Board of Elections to request a form.
