We're looking for a Safety Supervisor who would manage CTC's company-wide safety program in a manner that maintains maximum employee safety consistent with federal, state, and industry regulations and guidelines. Minimum Skills & Qualifications: MUST have proficient knowledge of WISHA and OSHA standards; both in the field and for recordkeeping. MUST have experience with WA State Labor and Industries Claims Management. Knowledge of principles and practices of employee and public safety and health administration including safety and health education and training, accident investigation, self-inspection, record keeping, publicity, safety committee operation and other services common to employee and public safety; principles and practices of organization and management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions. Ability to prepare and deliver training to employees; facilitate meetings in front of groups. Proficient in Microsoft Suite. ***** All applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time. ***** Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field of study. Minimum of five years’ experience in the area of safety management in a construction or production environment. Must have managerial skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of understanding, in a team environment. Roles & Responsibilities: Maintains CTC’s company safety program including but not limited to the company Safety Committee, Safety Manual, Safety Training and Light Duty Job Analysis. With the HR Manager, coordinates with and maintains communication with Plant Manager the Kept-on-Salary, Light Duty and Return-to-Work, Leave of Absence programs. Routinely modifies and updates all components of CTC’s safety program to meet CTC’s company goals, ongoing operations and to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and industry regulations and guidelines. Effectively communicates all aspects of CTC’s safety program to management and other key personnel to ensure an appropriate level of knowledge amongst company personnel and to ensure accountability. Communicates with management on issues of accountability and discipline with respect to CTC’s safety program. Stops improper actions that may result in incident, near miss, or injury when necessary. Any disciplinary actions recommended are carried out in counsel with management, including but not limited to Plant Manager, Foremen, and/or HR Manager. Recommends and assists with the development and/or implementation of and monitors all safety related training to ensure that all safety related training efforts are effective and timely. Effectively communicates with plant labor force to ensure plant initiated safety concerns are handled in a proactive, effective manner. Assists plant management with the development of Job Hazard Analysis’ for all new plant operations as well as review of existing JHA’s as warranted. Reviews and/or maintains safety records and files for all elements of CTC’s safety program including appropriate documentation of all near miss, injury, and property damage incidents. Co-Chairs or Chairs CTC’s Safety Committee. Monitors CTC’s safety program and performance against internal, State and industry measurements and reports findings and recommendations to management in an effort to ensure continuous safety improvements throughout all of the company’s operations. Monitors OSHA, WISHA and industry safety activities to ensure CTC remains current with new regulations and guidelines as they affect CTC operations. Acts as CTC’s primary contact for all safety related business with outside agencies and companies including Washington State Labor and Industries. Ensures that Human Resources Manager, Plant Manager, Director of Operations, and President are appropriately informed of all external activities as appropriate. Carries out policies and decisions of top management on all safety related matters. Works to build and maintain employee morale and cooperation between departments on all safety related matters.
