Wheelchair Associate – SEATAC – Seattle Tacoma International Airport- Part Time Approx. 20 hours a week $19.50 / hour Plus tips! Multiple positions available! JOB DESCRIPTION The Wheelchair Associate will ensure chair is in good condition/repair and that brakes operate properly. Transport passenger, carry on luggage and other belongings. Communicate both verbally and when needed due to hearing disability, in writing or electronically with passenger. Ensure that all needs of the passenger are attended to; posses strong commitment to customer service. Transport passengers with service animals to airport approved pet areas. Ensure that no passenger is left unattended for a period exceeding 30 minutes. Operate a PDA (personal digital assistant or computer tablet), radio and or cell phone in compliance with Smarte Carte policies and procedures. Assist flight crew/airline staff with transporting passenger with aisle chair as needed. QUALIFICATIONS At least 18 years of age Ability to push passenger in wheelchair Strong customer service skills Excellent verbal, reading and written communication skills Must be able to obtain Port of Seattle SIDA and AOA customs seal badge Fingerprint/ background is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Lift up to 75 lbs. Walk and stand for duration of shift Bend, squat and stoop regularly Skills Required Communication Customer Service Behaviors Required Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Preferred Enthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest
