Job Title:Manufacturing Shop Helper Position Reports To: Department Lead Department: Portland Warehouse FLSA: Non-Exempt Hourly (Federal Labor Standards Act) – Note whether Exempt or Non-Exempt from overtime (managers, outside sales and certain professionals are exempt from overtime and categorized as Exempt) Date: 5/2/2021 The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by persons assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required. General Summary: Hose Manufacturing- Shop Helper Essential Functions: A. Follow Instruction of Department Lead -Perform required tasks in a timely manner as instructed -Ability to work independently or as a team member -Ability to stand for extended periods -Must possess good English communication skills -Ability to maintain a clean and productive work area B. General Duties -Buff, Polish, Package, Fabricate Hose Assemblies -May be assigned other duties as needed. -Wearing the proper and required safety equipment. Continuous 67-100% Lifting: 1-10 lbs.: Continuous 67-100% 21-50 lbs.: Occasionally 6-33% Maximum # lifted by worker without assistance 50 lbs. If required, lifts over 50 lbs. are performed with two or more people. Carrying: 1-10 lbs.: Frequently 34-66% 11-20 lbs.: Occasionally 6-33% Maximum # carried by worker without assistance 30 lbs. If required, carrying over 30 lbs. is performed with two or more people or with lift devices. Pushing/Pulling force to be exerted: 1-10 lbs.: Frequently 34-66% 11-20 lbs.: Occasionally 6-33% Maximum weight of object pushed/pulled by worker 30- 40 lbs. Distance: 10 ft. Type of Surface: concrete Bend/Stoop: Occasionally 6-33% Crouch/Squat: Occasionally 6-33% Crawl: Occasionally 6-33% Reach at or above shoulder: Frequently 34-66% Reach below shoulder: Frequently 34-66% Use of Arms: Frequently 34-66% Use of Wrist: Frequently 34-66% Use of Hands: Frequently 34-66% Grasping/squeezing: Frequently 34-66% Environment: Inside 100% of time Works on or around moving machinery or mechanical parts. Personal Protective Equipment: -Gloves/Glasses -Hearing protection Experience: No experience required. Will train the right individual. Forklift experience preferred but not required. Contact with others: Regular daily routine requires contact with other employees, sales and management. Frequent contact with outside clients. Supervision Received: Works under direct daily supervision of supervisors and/or management, receives goals and basic procedures for project assignments. Must handle prioritization with a variety of competing activities. Performs tasks independently with periodic supervisory review/audit. Seeks guidance to assure complete and appropriate action. Working Conditions: Requires working in warehouse environment with possibility of periods with extreme temperatures. Must be able to stand for long periods of time at an assigned station, navigate stairs to pull parts and be able to lift to 65 lbs. Will be required to operate forklift. Frequent standing, bending, lifting and pulling.
