*********************************************************** To apply, visit *********************************************************** CLIFF TEMPLE BAPTIST CHURCH Work Location: North Oak Cliff • 125 Sunset Avenue, Dallas, TX 75208 POSITION: Custodian • Full-time, hourly, FLSA nonexempt • Compensation of $13.00 to $15.00 per hour depending on qualifications • Employer-provided health insurance, paid holidays, vacation • Supervised by Properties Superintendent SCOPE: The Custodian performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around church facilities; troubleshoots and performs minor repairs; responds to after-hours alarm calls; implements room setups for a variety of events; works closely with staff and church members to meet custodial needs; and resolves problems to ensure efficient, clean, and safe operations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.) • Performs work by church's operational schedule which includes weekends utilizing safe working methods, procedures, and techniques. • Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, flooring, and locksmith repairs. • Operates hand tools and power equipment such as pressure washers and chain saws. • Repairs drywall and tile damage and performs touch-up and finish painting. • Sets up and takes down chairs, tables, and equipment in meeting rooms. • Replaces a variety of light bulbs, ballasts, and lighting accessories. • Replenishes restroom supplies. • Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways, windows, and air vents. • Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors. • Vacuums, shampoos, and cleans carpets and upholstered furniture. • Identifies stains and uses proper chemicals for their removal. • Empties trash containers. • Maintains the appearance of grounds areas and parking lots. • Opens and closes church building according to security procedures. • Responds to emergency and after-hours alarm calls. • Works occasional overtime or an adjusted schedule to accommodate church events. • Performs related duties as required. • Reports work accomplished orally or in writing to supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: • One or more years of experience in building cleaning and maintenance work. • Ability to perform inside and outside physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 80 pounds unassisted), working at step ladder heights, bending, standing, climbing, or walking. • Ability to work in poor climate conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. • Ability to respond to after-hours alarm calls within 20 minutes. • Ability to relate to supervisor, staff and church members in a courteous, cooperative manner. • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.  • English fluency with some Spanish. • High school diploma. • Background record clear of criminal and sexual offenses. *********************************************************** To apply, visit ***********************************************************
