💔HE CAN DIE ANY MOMENT 💔 the shelter is euthanizing on time!!! Staying in the shelter has been a real rollercoaster ride of emotions for sensitive Hammy, and he needs to get out and into a real home as soon as possible! ⏰ Hammy (#A4703754) first arrived at our shelter wearing a muzzle, and was very skittish and uncertain about interacting with people. After about a week of interacting with staff, he made some friends he felt comfortable enough with to show his snuggly personality, and transformed into a 50lb lapdog! He started basking in belly rubs, showing off his "sit" on cue for treats, and made new friends with volunteers who took him out for nice long walks and played games of fetch with him out in the yard. 🥰 But just as his interactions with people started improving so well, his stress level started increasing. Our east shelter kennels can be extremely loud, and several weeks of the noisy environment was as much as Hammy could handle. He pushes on the kennel gate in frustration, and even when he scrapes and hurts his nose, sometimes he still just can't stop himself from doing it. Hammy is only around two years old, and he has a lot of potential to be a great best friend for the right person who's willing to invest their time with him. He would like to be the only dog in his new home, and will need a little time to decompress and adjust to his new life before he starts on any other big adventures with you.
