Hi, my name is Jared, 26 year old living in Newport Beach / Costa Mesa. I am interested in offering chess lessons, and am posting to see if there is any interest. I have been playing ever since I was a little kid, and have years of experience teaching. I have attended summer chess camps as both participant and counselor, have done many tournaments (some of which had international recognition), and have started my own hometown after school chess program, where elementary school children would come, learn, play, and have fun. My previous experience mostly involves children under 18, but am open to any age, as it is a great game that offers skills that can benefit anyone. Open to any skill level, more than comfortable teaching from the ground up. Thinking about starting at $30 an hour / session (negotiable if needed), and open to discussing class location and times. Currently, all I have is a small, magnetic board, but more than sufficient to do the job. Please reach out if interested, I would love to hear from anybody wanting to learn or play.
