Searching for original progressive band

So I have played 5 string bass guitar with singing backup vocals in 3 separate professional bands between 2009-2015. I have played over 1000 live shows and gigs in that time period including touring California twice and recording a professional CD with the most recent band I was in. I am a 34 year Caucasian male located in Spanaway. I have also played acoustic guitar with vocals and written some of my own original music over the years and played lots of open mics as well. I took a break from playing music for about the last 4-5 years and I have recently started focusing on music and written and playing once again. I'm writing this post because I am interested in finding an original progressive melodic rock/metal/alternative band that is looking for a vocalist. I honestly do not have any experience singing lead vocals in any bands but I'm posting this here anyway because I love singing and I want to see if anything productive and potentially successful comes from this. My vocal range in 440hz tunning is approximately from G2-G4 which places me as a tenor, I'm pretty sure this is basically right in the middle of potential vocal ranges and isn't really a very unique range. I would like to find a group of talented musicians around my general age to write and play tasty original music that inspires and uplifts humanity with a positive message and meaningful lyrics. I would really enjoy making some cool new friends that play music from the heart and I hope I can connect with a group of cool people that I actually fit correctly with personality, musically, and skill level wise, as well as a positive and upbeat environment. I am specifically seeking to focus on singing in this post and I am not interested in playing bass or guitar in any bands because I am not well practiced for the last 5 years or so and I also just really feel like finding out if I actually could be a quality lead vocalist if I connected with the right group of people. I don't really know what to expect from reaching out like this, but it's worth trying at least because I really love music and singing feels good as well. -Jared
