Description
The Spring Book Sale starts Saturday! The Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library holds one of the country's largest charity book sales twice a year at our warehouse in Ithaca. It's a cherished Ithaca community tradition that also draws bibliophiles from all over the Northeast. All proceeds go to our local libraries and organizations supporting literacy. This time we have over 265,000 books, magazines, puzzles, games, DVDs, blu-rays, CDs, records, maps, posters and other ephemera to sell at bargain prices. As always, our volunteers have spent thousands of hours categorizing and organizing our stock so that it's easy to find just what you're looking for. And thanks to the generosity of our donors, you'll find a vast selection and all sorts of wonderful and unusual treasures. Notably, we have 25,000 CDs, including the best selection of classical music we have ever offered. This sale will also feature our largest-ever selection of DVDs. ______________________________________ Hours and Prices: We'll be open May 7-9, May 14-16, and May 21-24, from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. each day. [We'll also host a special "Senior Day" and "Student Night" on Wednesday, May 18. See our website at www.booksale.org for more information.] Prices on all three days of the first weekend will run $1.50 - $4.50 in the main warehouse. There will be a 50 item per visit limit for first day purchases. Prices will be reduced daily beginning Saturday, May 14. The sale will end with "Dime Day" (everything on the main sales floor only 10 cents!) on Monday, May 23; followed by "Bag Day" (everything you can fit in a standard reusable grocery bag for $1!) on Tuesday, May 24. _______________________________________ Collector’s Corner: Our Collector's Corner room offers rarities, collectables and specialty items for a fraction of what you'd pay online or in an antiquarian shop. Collector’s Corner hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on sale days through Sunday, May 22. Our list of Collector’s Corner items is posted on the website here: _______________________________________ It's easy to find us: just look for our big blue warehouse at 509 Esty St., just off Route 13. Free parking is available in our lot directly across from the building, or on the surrounding side streets. Or ride your bike down and take advantage of our bike racks! *** IMPORTANT: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BOXES AND BAGS! *** We have a large but limited supply. You'll find full details, price schedules, warehouse maps and lots more information on our website at www.booksale.org. Our libraries need your support more than ever. Hope to see you soon!
