As the Media Services Technician, you will provide a wide range of hands-on technical assistance in the operation and production of media services. This is an exciting opportunity to fill a new full-time role in the Information Technology Department, and support their mission to provide secure and reliable technology and services to make government more efficient, equitable, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the community. This position is funded for a three-year limited term. Those applicants who have submitted a complete application that demonstrates a strong match to the experience and qualifications desired will be invited to continue in the selection process. which will include a panel interview and may include technical performance tests. Required Qualifications: Knowledge of: Basic principles of video/film production including filming, editing and post production work of live events; basic principles and procedures of record keeping; proper operation, use and application of media services equipment and related peripherals; video editing software; Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Premiere; basic principles of photography, videography, lighting and sound recording and online meeting services such as Zoom and Teams. Ability to: Identify and select public video content, work independently and exercise sound judgment; understand and apply oral and written instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, operate media services equipment, organize and maintain records; handle a variety of concurrent tasks and multiple priorities. Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience -Sufficient experience in working in a media services environment to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: ~Perform audio, video recording, editing and playback of City public meetings. ~Identify, solicit, and select content for replaying on City Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) Channels. ~Perform standard equipment setup including computers, data projectors and other multimedia equipment. ~Troubleshoot equipment, software, hardware and networking issues as required both remotely and at physical locations. ~Provide technical assistance and training to City employees with online meeting solutions. ~In addition, may provide service as needed during off hours, evenings, weekends and holidays
