WAKEFIELD, MA — National Grid will be working near 281 Salem St. starting Monday, Jan. 6. Detours will be in place 24 hours a day due to a large excavation site. Local traffic will be able to access the area, police said. Inbound traffic on Salem Street from the Route 128 side will be detoured to Lowell Street. Outbound traffic will be detoured from Vernon to Lowell. Work is expected to be completed by Jan. 10.
