Description

I’m looking to rehome Daisy. She’s an German Shorthair Pointer x Tree Walker Coonhound. She was born in September, so she’s about 7 months and is still growing. She’s a good girl. She’s healthy, has had all of her shots and is on flea and heart worm prevention. She is also microchipped. She’s fully housebroken and crate trained. She knows Sit, Get Down and Go Lay down. She isn’t leash trained but will walk on a harness fine. She is whistle trained though.. no need to call her name, so changing it won’t be a problem.. just a short firm whistle and she will come. With this being said, we’ve never done the whole “walking” thing, I just let the dogs out and they come back when called. Now it has been a few times, she’s been tracking something and will take a few extra minutes to come but she always does. She isn’t spayed and hasn’t had her first heat yet, if you plan on breeding her that’s fine but please wait for her next heat.. she has absolutely NO motherly instincts right now and I doubt she would take care of her litter. She lives with other dogs and she has learnt to tolerate small dogs / puppies but it is in her natural instinct to chase and pick them up with her month. She has no signs of aggression and has been raised around kids, my youngest has just turned one. She knows her role in the pack and she doesn’t question authorities or want to be the alpha, in any way. She really is a good girl. THE REASON I WANT TO REHOME HER IS.. she has too much potential to be a household pet. This girl wants to work. She wants to track and retrieve. It’s not fair on her for me to keep her when she could be thriving as a working dog. She has a good life, We’re dog people.. she gets spoiled but I can’t give her the life she wants, she will be depressed as a “pet”. I’ve literally debated making this post for about a month. We really love her but I just have to stop being selfish and do what’s right for her and her best interest. Daisy came from a breeder in Baldwin, FL.. her parents are working hunting dogs. Bring home anything to know that you are serious about giving her a forever home. I’m in no rush to rehome her. All the hard work of “pet” training is done.. now she’s ready to learn real skills and really put in work! I will be adding a text free number as I don’t need spam calls. Feel free to ask any questions.. thank you! REHOMING FEE APPLIES!
