We're looking for someone to come to our home and engage with our son after school Mon - Thur from 4 PM - 6:00 PM (more hours during summer available). There can be some reasonable flexibility with those start/end times. He will be a 7th grader at YMA this fall. References and background check clearance a MUST. Engagement can be combination of in our home, outdoors nearby and in the community. Car is preferable but not required, public buses nearby (2-5 minutes walk to our door) and Metro North Railroad Harlem Line at Bronxville Station is 1 mile or 9 minute bus ride on Bee Line #30 bus which will take a NYC Transit Metro Card. Engagement can be through a variety of combined ways depending on your interests and talents: Parks: -shoot hoops -toss the football/run plays -play catch mitt/ball -light Jr. physical training? (HS track nearby) -new sport? =teaching trades/craftsmanship/other skills; =Career interest exploration and visits =High School and College exploration and visits for exposure ="hobby" stuff; ="projects"; =exploring grounds or light "hikes"; ="other" nature/environment or local history =observing and/or working with animals/birds; =Library or other community visits =open to other ideas {Bad weather or other events can be used for downtime indoor games; goal setting/reflection; youth development and relationship building activities which can be provided to you upon request} We live in Yonkers on the borderline of Bronxville, off Palmer Road between Central Park Ave and Mile Square Road. School Year {Monday 5/9 - Thursday 6/23}: $105 per 4-day, 8-hour week @ 2 hours each day. M-TH {4 PM - 6 PM} or similar. Summer {Mon 6/27 - Thursday 9/1}: $225 per 4-day, 18-hour week @ 4.5 hours each day. M- TH {1:30 PM - 6 PM}or similar. **Summer weeks you'd be off WITH PAY: Week of Monday 7/4 AND Week of Monday 8/22** Week of 8/29 - 9/1 summer schedule continues. Monday 9/5 OFF/PAID and School year schedule resumes Tues 9/6. More flexible for agreement around start/end times of schedule in summer. Occasional Day Trips are bonus if you drive. Gas + entrance fees paid by us.
