Description

Press release from the Town of Wakefield: December 5, 2020 Are you signed up for Wakefield's CodeRED e-Alert system? No parking ban has been issued yet, but with snow in the forecast, now is a great time to sign up for Wakefield's CodeRED e-alert system. In addition to hearing about hazmat situations, water contamination, or other emergencies where timely communication is critical, it also how Public Safety leaders communicate when a parking ban has been issued. Be sure to "Create a Managed Account" instead of signing up as a "guest" to ensure you can update your information in the future or remove yourself from the system if you move. You can receive messages via phone, email, and text; language options are available. About Parking Bans In 2015, Wakefield lifted its December-to-April on-street parking ban. Now, the Town initiates a temporary restriction of on-street parking on an emergency basis. This allows plowing crews and public-safety vehicles access to the roads and perform curb-to-curb cleanup. All parked cars must be removed from the roadways during a parking ban. If your residence does not have a driveway, connect with your landlord for parking options or coordinate with a neighbor who has extra driveway space. Vehicles that interfere with snow operations or emergency-vehicle access may be towed. This press release was produced by the Town of Wakefield. The views expressed here are the author's own.
