Description
LEVITTOWN, NY — Two well-known Levittown businesses have been recognized for their significant contributions to the community and state.
Domenico's of Levittown and Minuteman Press of Levittown were awarded the New York State Senate Empire Business Award. State Sen. Kevin Thomas presented them the award, given to exceptional businesses that go out of their way to give back to the community. It's the highest award given to businesses by the New York Senate.
Domenico's is a family-run restaurant that has a long-standing reputation for opening its doors to community organizations, Thomas' office said in announcing the award. That includes the Levittown Kiwanis Club and the Levittown Lions Club. The restaurant also often generously donates food and supplies to volunteer causes.
Minuteman Press, a full-service print shop, joined the fight against coronavirus by printing face shields, ventilator parts and other critical items for essential workers in the community.
Thomas said it was an "honor" to recognize the two businesses that have done "so much for the Levittown community during an incredibly difficult time."
"From donating food to our essential workers, to supplying critical items to help address a public health emergency, Domenico's Restaurant and Minuteman Press are truly deserving of the Empire Award," he said.
