We are hosting the Class of 71 50th reunion at Violi's II at the Wallingford Country Club from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, September 24th. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and acquaintances when we celebrate the 50th Reunion of the Maloney High School Class of 1971. (We know that we're a year late but Covid caused us to delay our celebration.) We are planning a wonderful get together beginning late afternoon in pleasant surroundings with the tunes of our high school years playing in the background. Dress will be business or dressy casual, whichever you prefer. Here's what to expect: 3:00 p.m. – The reunion will start. Please check in at the Welcome table where you and your guest (if present) can sign the guest sheet. Once your tickets are collected, you will get your name tag and a complimentary coupon for a free drink. All soft drinks, coffee and tea are complimentary. 3:30 p.m. – There will be appetizers available as we greet each other and rekindle old friendships. The event will be held in the main banquet room where most activities will occur. In an adjoining room there will be a memorial tribute display dedicated to our fellow classmates that have passed on before us. There is also an outdoor veranda that extends off the banquet room overlooking pleasant views for those who want to step outside for a while. 5:00 p.m. – Attendees will be welcomed to the event beginning with a prayer of recognition and remembrance for those who are no longer with us, followed by a toast to everyone that took the time and expense to come and celebrate this milestone with us. If any classmate would like to say a few words to the class now would be the time. 5:15 p.m. – The Dinner Buffet will begin and people can help themselves to the delicious spread put out by the Violi's II Restaurant Staff. 6:15 p.m. – Time for dessert along with coffee or tea, etc. (At this time table centerpieces at each table will be raffled). 6:30 p.m. – The floor will be opened for requests of any of your old favorites, and people can dance if the mood strikes them. We also have the World Famous Larryoke Karaoke available so if anyone would like to sing one of their favorite tunes of yesteryear to relive our high school days, please do! Most of all, please have fun!! 7:45 p.m.—8 p.m. We will close with the "We are Spartans" theme song and wish each other well and once again thank everyone for coming and making this event truly special!
