Are you a keyboard or a bass player looking for a permanent home? We’ve been a family band for several years and have always had problems holding onto musicians with a good work ethic, good attendance and attitude. We’re looking for musicians who can also sing as well as play, knows music, have an abstract way of thinking, great personality and someone who can dedicate their time and efforts to one band. Also if you can write and arrange, that’s a big plus. We have paid gigs and steady work. We have several set lists, (depending on the venue or event) and some originals. We’re into funk, jazz, and r&b, Motown, Neo soul, gospel and 80’s rock. We’re innovative, but somewhat traditional. We’ve moved beyond the chittlin circuit and the days of “Brick House” and all those other popular cover songs. As an African American band, we try to stay clean of those old songs that most cover bands are predictably known for. We try to stay on top of what’s hot by the crowds standards and what they’re feeling. But not try to come off as corny. The kind of artists we cover and are in tuned with are: Earth Wind & Fire Slave Mint Condition Roy Ayers Erykah Badu Duran Duran Marvin Gaye Yes Jamiroquai Talking Heads Herbie Hancock Ramsey Lewis, to name a few… We have a band manager who takes care of all our needs and handles our bookings. We rehearse at Soundwave Studios in Oakland and work on arrangements and strategies at my crib in Hayward, working in conjunction with the drummer (band leader) and his wife who’s our manager. They are the mom and pop of the band. I’m the lead singer and band director. All that we ask of you is your time and talents. We consist of: Drummer background vocals Guitar vocals Lead and background female Lead and background male (me) Percussionist Bass Keys I also play keys, bass and percussion, write and arrange. Now that things are opening up from COVID, business is starting to pick back up and we want to get back in the game with the right attitude and a winning team that we can depend on.
