Calling All DJ's - Question for All DJ's

As a DJ do you ever introduce the world to a new artist or are you just playing other peoples play list? I want to get DJ's perspective on their trade/ craft. It seems like a disservice to your audience and the art of music to follow the lead of every other DJ. Its no wonder all artist sound the same when all DJ's are playing the same music. What happen to the days of DJ's cracking new music and artist. As a DJ's what song or artist can you say you introduced people to? It doesn't matter how big or small your following is or how new or old you are in the game you should always be in the search for new music for your own consumption so you can filter it to the people. It seems like in a room of 100 DJ's none of them can say they introduced their audience to a new song or a new artist. I'm just curious to why that is? Thanks https://ampl.ink/DaRVM
