Press release from Levittown Public Schools: September 14, 2020 After being away from school for months due to the pandemic and summer break,students from the Levittown Public Schools received a warm welcome back on Sept. 8.Although school will look different this year, students were still excited to return to theirbuildings to see their peers, meet their new teachers and fall into their new routines. With smiles behind their masks, students and staff entered their respective schoolsand had their temperatures checked. This is one of the many safety precautions that thedistrict is taking this school year to ensure the health and safety of everyone who entersthe buildings. Among other safety measures, students and staff will follow guidelines such aproper social distancing, along with hand-washing and hand sanitizing. This year, Levittown students had the option of following a fully remoteinstructional model or return to school in some capacity. Primary students could return toin-person learning five days a week, while secondary students had the option of selecting ahybrid model, following a schedule that alternates between virtual and in-personinstructional days. "We are thrilled to welcome our students back and reconnect with them both in-person and virtually," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tonie McDonald. "Although schoolmay look different this year, the Levittown Public Schools will continue to provide studentswith a safe learning environment and opportunities that will lead to Success for EveryStudent."
