Description

Participants will create masks out of cardboard and paper as elaborate or as simple as you desire. Led by artists from ReImagine. On Saturday May 14th, join us for MASKS OF WONDER,a workshop at the Randall Museum Led by artists Michael Garlington and Natalia Bertotti Participants will create masks out of cardboard and paper as elaborate or as simple as they desire. Once finished, participants will have their portrait taken by Michael Garlington using his Graflex large format film camera. Feel free to bring images of your own, including images from magazines and newspapers. All ages welcome (parents will help young children.) All materials are provided by SCRAP. Workshops are 45 minutes, leaving time for photographs at the end of each session. There are 3 time slots: 10am, 11am, 12pm. Each workshop will have15 participants per hour. Please sign up each participant. Everyone who attends will be able to acquire their portrait at a later date. Artists Bio: Michael Garlington and Natalia Bertotti have been collaborators in making art of all types since 2013. The largest scale of which have been various installations at Burning Man. They love creating costumes and then taking portraits of scenes of wonder and horror. They then house the portraiture in elaborate frames which have grown into chapels and temples incorporating the images. Michael and Natalia have two of their portraits in ReImagine: The Art of Sustainable Thinking, currently on view through August 31st at the Randall Museum.
