LEVITTOWN, NY — Authorities are investigating a house fire that broke out Thursday evening in Levittown.
The Levittown Volunteer Fire Department rushed to a home on North Newbridge Road around 6 p.m. Thursday along with a dual response engine and ladder from the East Meadow Fire department, officials said. Firefighters managed to extibguish the balze on the outside of the home before it spread indoors.
Firefighters found heavy smoke damage throughout the two-story home. The homeowner was evaluated for smoke inhalation but refused medical attention at the scene.
Crews used fans to vent toxic smoke from the home.
