LEVITTOWN, NY — A 55-year-old man was found dead in an alleyway in Levittown this morning, Nassau County Police said. The man, described as Latino, was found unresponsive by a person outside 29 Jerusalem Ave., just north of Hempstead Turnpike, at about 8:30 a.m., Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said. The person contacted police, and when medics responded to the scene, the man could not be revived, he said. There was no sign of trauma at the scene and the man's cause of death does not appear to be related to the weather, Ryder said. The man's body was transported to the Nassau County Medical Examiner's Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of his death. "We believe that it may have been a medical emergency, but we will evaluate that as we get the results from the medical examiner's office," Ryder told reporters at a press briefing in Hicksville. Police have not released the man's name pending the notification of his next of kin.
