Description

LEVITTOWN, NY — Nassau County Police have identified the man found dead in an alleyway on Jerusalem Avenue in Levittown yesterday morning. His name was Francisco Guerra-Duarte and he was 64-years-old with no known address, according to a police press release today. Police said that upon arrival on the scene, officers found the man "laying on the ground, unresponsive and cold to the touch." He could not be revived by a police medic and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that the man was discovered by a passerby outside 29 Jerusalem Ave. at about 8:30 a.m. and they were notified. Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said yesterday in a news conference that investigators do not believe that Guerra-Duarte's death was weather-related and he may have had a medical emergency. However, he did note that investigators were waiting on results from the medical examiner's office. The investigation is ongoing.
