Press release from the City of Providence: April 25, 2022 Other happenings: Ladd Observatory will conduct public solar observing on the grounds of the observatory at Brown University from 1:00pm-3:00pm. White light, hydrogen alpha, and projection telescopes will be available for solar observing. Seagrave Memorial Observatory in N. Scituate will host a membership meeting (public invited) with a talk by long time member Rick Lynch. Always an entertaining speaker, Rick's talk will be about a recent trip to Italy where he visited the Vatican Observatory and several sites made famous by Galileo. The observatory's 8 3/4" Alvin Clark, 12" Meade, and 16" Meade telescopes will be open from 7:00pm-9:30pm for viewing a variety of celestial objects.
