BOW, NH — A dive team and boaters from the New Hampshire Fish & Game department were on the Merrimack River on Saturday searching for evidence after a woman's body was found in the river on Thursday. Bow police, Bow and Hooksett firefighters, and others were sent to the river around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday after witnesses reported seeing a naked woman floating in the river. Later, the woman's body got caught up in some brush not far from the shoreline. Police said the woman appeared to be in her mid-to-late-30s. Her identity and the cause of her death were not known and an autopsy was expected to be performed on Friday. Later Thursday, New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol surmised the case was a "probable drowning."
