TEWKSBURY, MA — Nearly 11,000 Tewksbury voters have cast ballots in the Nov. 3 general election, as of Wednesday at 1 p.m., Town Clerk Denise Graffeo said. That's 45 percent of the town's registered voters. The 10,918 ballots cast are more than 62 percent of the 2016 presidential election total of 17,608, six days before the polls close. In the September state primary election, 8,163 votes were cast in Tewksbury. About 40 percent of the early votes have been cast in person, and the rest have come in by mail, Graffeo said. In total, 12,686 mail and absentee ballots have been sent out by her office. >>Election 2020: When, Where And How To Vote In Tewksbury Massachusetts expanded both in-person early voting and mail voting because of the coronavirus pandemic. Early in-person voting was available for two weeks, ending Friday, and mail voting was made available to all voters, with no excuse needed. In addition to the presidential election, Tewksbury voters are casting their ballots in state and federal legislative races and two statewide ballot measures.
