Aster is a 4-year-old White Great Pyrenees. She has basic Training (Sit, Shake Hand, Lay Down, "gentle" for receiving treats gently) house trained, and does well with other animals. Unsure about how she is around children, as she can get an attitude sometimes. She has food aggression and territorial barking. She is a fun dog to be around nevertheless, with a great personality. Her diet consists of the "Chicken and Whole Grains Recipe" Iams dog food (green bag) but she will eat most things. (Occasionally she gets scraps as a treat). We walk her 2-3 times a day. She has never been professionally groomed. Originally she was meant to protect our livestock, but that changed and she is now an inside dog. She hasn't done anything wrong to be rehomed, but with our schedules filling up and a rise in financial issues, we don't have the ability to adequately provide her the stimulation she needs as her breed is a very smart and demanding one. We do have requirements for who takes her though, just to be sure she goes to a good home. Those requirements consist of: Past/present animal care experience, Proof of animal care (pictures, vet visits, shots, etc), and experience with large dog breeds (not particularly required but a huge plus). A few public visits with her and potential owners are also required, as we would like to get to know who will be taking care of her. After a few public visits, if we feel you are a good candidate, she will be boarded at your house for a week or two to see how she adjusts, and if you feel she's a good fit and so do we, you may keep her. She is not purebred, but she's pretty close to it.
