SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The Swampscott Recreation Department has created an outlet for students in the town who will be remote learning inside their houses this fall.
Registration is open for a new program called "After School Club" that will be held at the Clarke and Stanley playgrounds each day after school from 2:45 to 4:45.
The continuation of the Park League for the fall will allow students to participate in supervised games, sports, arts and crafts.
"Best of all (is) the ability to socialize with their friends in an outdoor environment," the Recreation said in a posting of the program.
The program will be canceled on rainy days and efforts will be made to keep children socially distances whenever possible. Groups are limited to 25 or less and face coverings will have to be worn whenever attendees are within 6 feet of each other.
The program is open to students in grades 1 through 5 and will be separated by ages. Groups will be under the supervision of a park leader with a park supervisor overseeing the program.
