SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott voters overwhelmingly backed former Vice President Joe Biden over President Donald Trump in Tuesday's presidential election, according to unofficial results. Swampscott voters also backed U.S. Sen. Ed Markey and U.S. Rep Seth Moulton for reelection and were split on the two statewide ballot questions. Voters backed the Biden-Kamala Harris ticket with 6,816 (70.8 percent) of the town's 9,624 votes cast to the Trump-Mike Pence ticket with 2,540 (26.4 percent). Voters backed Markey with 6,675 votes (69.4 percent) against Republican challenger Kevin O'Connor with 2,667 votes (27.7 percent). Swampscott went with Moulton with 6,506 votes (67.6 percent) against Republican challenger John Paul Moran with 2,422 votes (25.2 percent). Swampscott was in line with the rest of the state on the two ballots questions as well. Voters backed "Right to Repair" with 7,005 voting "Yes" to 2,115 voting "No" in the initiative that was approved statewide. Swampscott downed "Ranked Choice Voting" with 4,745 voting "No" and 4,352 voting "Yes" for the measure that went down to defeat.
