Description
Hoss is a big, friendly 6yo walker hound. He’s crate trained, mostly housebroken and extremely friendly. He prefers to be outside, so a big or fenced in yard is his ideal situation, but can be inside/outside or inside if you have some patience to re-teach him his manners. He loves cats, children, men, women, and has not shown any aggression towards small animals. We do have chickens and he’s not interested in them either. He doesn’t chase cars, bikes, or joggers, and loads up for car rides perfectly. He gets along great with 99% of dogs, including ones he hasn’t met before, but if you have one it’d be preferable that they meet each other first. His only “hang up” is that he can’t eat near other dogs if the other dog will try to steal his food.
He tolerates baths, sleeps in the car, loves to hike, and is not afraid of fireworks/gunfire/thunderstorms/etc. He howls as much as any hound does, but typically only if there’s a reason. We are only rehoming for financial/location reasons and Hoss has no underlying issues not outlined here. He will sit for food/treats as well. We have reason to believe he used to be used for hunting, but I can’t confirm.
If you want a big, clumsy, goofy best friend please reach out to me — I would love for him to have more attention and more space than he has now. Very reasonable rehoming fee applies.
