Launching from DC, caravan downriver with us in your choice of canoe or kayak for an overnight excursion to the Chesapeake Bay! FLOTILLAFREE FOR MEMBERS! Launching from DC, caravan downriver with us in your choice of canoe or kayak for an overnight excursion to the Chesapeake Bay! Our first camping night will be along the way, the second camping night will be at our final destination and is optional. Day 1 - Canal Rd NW, Washington, DC, USA . We will meet up to launch upriver from the Key Bridge in Georgetown. We’ll paddle & float half way to the Chesapeake Bay, where we will pull ashore for a night of camping, campfire, and probably a smore or two. Day 2 - Scotland, MD 20687, USA . After a hearty breakfast, we’ll hit the water to make our way down the rest of the river. We’ll pull up in Scotland, MD as our final destination, with an optional night of camping where the Potomac flows into the Chesapeake. Prerequisites: You definitely should be able to swim and paddle a bit. We’re going down river, so the current will do most of the work. The most important skill will probably be applying suntan lotion and enjoying the ride!
