The Wave USA is excited to present the "The Derby Social" This unique and exclusive Derby Experience celebrates the untold Black History of the Kentucky Derby. Black jockeys and horsemen dominated the sport of thoroughbred racing, from the first Kentucky Derby in 1875 through 1903, right before the Jim Crow era pushed them out. In fact, 15 of the first 28 Derby winners were ridden by Black jockeys. -------------- We ask that all guest arrive in their best southern derby day attire! Festive hats, dressed and dapper suits! Prizes for Best Dressed Derby Fashion! ------------- The event experience will include music, Black Derby Men Art Showcase, Woodford Reserve Bourbon tasting and brand education.
