Sudbury Positive Coronavirus Tests Rise, But Cases Low Overall

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury was one of a few dozens towns in Massachusetts that saw a rise in positive coronavirus cases over the last 14 days — but the town's positive test rate is still well below safety thresholds. Over the past two weeks, two people tested positive for the virus out of the 287 who were tested, according to data released Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health. That's a positive test rate of about .70 percent, well below the 2 percent safety threshold. Nearby Framingham, Marlborough, Wayland, and Natick have all had positive test results trend down. Since the pandemic began locally in March, 199 Sudbury residents have tested positive for the virus. There was only one active case in town as of Tuesday, according to town figures. About 144 of the total cases have been connected to a local long-term care facility.
