WASHINGTON, DC — If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, March 14 through Sunday, March 15, you should plan accordingly. Track work and Purple Line construction will impact travel times for multiple lines. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend: Red Line trains will run every 6 minutes on Saturday and every 8 minutes on Sunday between Shady Grove and Takoma. Due to Purple Line construction, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Fort Totten and Glenmont. These free shuttle buses will operate on two route: Between Fort Totten, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and GlenmontNot stopping at TakomaBetween Takoma and Silver SpringRiders traveling to stations beyond Silver Spring must exit at Fort Totten (unless their destination is Takoma). Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont stations will be closed. Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes, but single-track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory. Silver Line trains will run every 22 minutes — but only between Wiehle-Reston East and Federal Center SW. Riders traveling between Capitol South and Largo Town Center should use the Orange and/or Blue line to get to their destination. Blue Line trains will operate every 22 minutes, but single-track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory. Yellow and Green Line trains will run every 12 minutes on Saturday and every 15 minutes on Sunday.
